After the establishment of the state, the members of the “Haganah” decided to turn Golomb’s house into a museum, where the story of the organization will be presented. The museum includes the front of the original house and two rooms that were preserved as they were in the years when the high command of the “Haganah” and the leaders of the Yishuv were held in them, and where discussions took place and decisions were made that were crucial to the existence of the Jewish Yishuv in Israel.
The museum also built three floors of an innovative display with films and exhibits illustrating the story of the development of the Jewish settlement in the Land of Israel during the years of the British Mandate, and the defense of the existence of this settlement.
The museum presents the story of the development of the Hebrew Defense Force – starting with the establishment of “Bar Giora” and “Hashomer” during the Second Aliyah, through the establishment of the “Haganah” organization in 1920, the events of 1920-1921 (1920-1921) and 9 (1929), the “Wall and Tower” period and the events of the Arab Revolt (1936-1939), the volunteering for the British Army and the Notorah and the establishment of the Palmach during the Second World War, the procurement and industrial plants, the immigration and the struggle against the mandate authorities and ending with the UN’s declaration of the division of the land in November 9, 1947 and the outbreak of the War of Independence. The visit to the museum ends with an audio presentation showing the fighting of the “Haganah” forces in the War of Independence until the declaration of the establishment of the state in Ha’e Bayer 1958, and the establishment of the IDF on June 1, 1948.
The museum also serves as a hostel for organizing members of the Haganah for unique and personal events
